In all honesty I bought this as a last resort, and didn't expect it to work. We have hard water which stains sinks bath tubs and the toilet in days if not washed regularly . While everything else has been relatively easy to clean, the loo was not. The stains were in corners of the toilet and below the water line, and have been there almost since we moved in 8 years ago. I have tried conventional toilet cleaners, vinegar, coke, WD40, concentrated bleach and none of them did anything to these particular stains.
I used a generous amount of this as stated I didn't expect it to work, and left if for a little over an hour. After some considerable scrubbing, which may or may not have been necessary, the water cleared enough for me to see.
